San Matteo 68, Albanella

While strolling around the old town of Albanella, I found this door that reminded me of a painting by Vasily Polenov (see pg. 66) and I imagined a women walking out with medieval soldiers in the foreground. It inspired me and so, I braved the shadowless spot and was pretty happy with the result. There was a railing on the stairs that I didn’t like and no flowers in the pots so again, pulling out the artistic license, I decided the accent of the red flowers would be a nice balance for the composition.
